  • Assistant Finance Officer - City of Nicholasville, KY 

    The City of Nicholasville is accepting applications/resumes for the position of Assistant Finance Officer, grade 34. The starting pay for this position falls within the annual range of $68,286.40 to $95,596.80.  This is an exempt position. The hiring rate will be determined during the final step of the hiring process.

    Under general administrative direction assists with the accounting and financial functions of the City; reviews and/or performs complex accounting work that requires extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles along with the ability to apply such knowledge; exercises sound decision making skills; coaches/mentors team members; supervises those reporting to the Finance Officer in the absence of the Finance Officer; performs related duties as required.

    Must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting supplemented by three years accounting experience in private or public accounting. Extensive knowledge of accounting theory, principles, and practices along with proven ability to apply such knowledge.  Demonstrated ability to exercise sound decision making skills.  CPA or CMA preferred, but not required. This position requires handling confidential city funds and finances; therefore, applicant must not possess a criminal conviction for theft or crimes against persons.   • Financial Coordinator - City of Paris, KY 
    This is a full time professional level position that will work closely with the Finance Director to provide analysis of the City's fiscal records by applying generally acceptable accounting principles. Will be involved in processes related to treasury management, financial planning, revenue management, and control. This position will perform bookkeeping and technical accounting work in the preparation and maintenance of fiscal and accounting records and data. Their work involves monitoring and balancing accounts, disbursing and allocating funds, and preparing a variety of reports. Pay will be based on experience and will range from $23.28 to $27.32. This is an hourly position that will generally work Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.  At times overtime may be required to complete all assigned tasks. The position is non-supervisory.
